Vacuum Packing Machine: Food packing machinery

Paul Newton

Vacuum packing machines are used in many houses today. Compared to the old times, when these machines were restricted to commercial kitchens and food stores, people nowadays use vacuum packaging machines in large extent. This is due to the comfort and advantage these machines offer to customers in preserving food quality. Preservation of food has become more important nowadays.

As demand for quality food increases and people are busy with day-to-day activities, vacuum packing machines are found to be essential in each home. Vacuum packers help you preserve food for many days, sometimes months. This facility is better than the conventional food preservation methods such as drying or freezing.

Vacuum packing machines are available in different sizes and shapes. Their capacity is determined by the nature of the kitchen and the frequency of use. There are many online shops where you can find a variety of packaging machines suitable for your needs. If you are running a restaurant that supplies packed food to customers, you may require heavy-load vacuum packing machines that can carry loads of foodstuff in them at a time. For such purposes you need an all-steel machine like a V400 or V500. The steel machine is required because of the fact that the factory-type environment may spoil the life of the packing machine. It is better you use a heavy-built model like the above for such commercial purposes so that you can ensure durability to your machine.

On the other hand, if you are handling less than 250 packing per week, you may not need a commercial vacuum packing machine. The machines such as V100, V200 and V300 would suffice your home needs or light restaurant needs.

The basic functionality and the maintenance of vacuum packing machines remain the same regardless of their capacity. In general, both types of machines take about 30 seconds to complete one packing task. In this, the first 10-20 seconds are used to remove the air from the bag and the remaining 10 seconds are used to make the heat seal.

The real difference between the commercial machine and the domestic machine lies in their design and make. While most of the commercial machines are built of steel, the lightweight domestic machines are made of plastic case. Another major difference is in the motor used in these machines. While commercial vacuum packing machines use 800-watt motor, domestic machines use 400-watt motor. This difference is due to the difference in the load operated in the two machines.
