Grace

According to Wikipedia Service Oriented Architecture or SOA is a software standard where various software applications are pitched together to form interoperable services. There is still ambiguity over the importance of SOA in organisations. The magnitude of such SOA increases due to rapidly changing pace of technology and technology infrastructure, which demands quick customer service with ease. SOA increases the rapidness and transparency of the business processes.

SOA applications are built with standalone software services which are totally dissociated with each other and are not embedded into each other; instead they are connected with specific protocols which decide how these services interact with each other. The workflows of such SOA systems are decided by business service experts who plan the sequence and link of such these systems in order to create technology infrastructure which is neutral in nature and meets the existing business requirements.

There are many ways as how you Industries go about it:

1. People centric collaboration: Where the interactive process is made more transparent between the people involved in various layers of business process like between the employees and partners.

2. Business process management: Identifying and curbing the bottlenecks which are causing threats to the business process

3. Information management: Maintaining the integrity of the information across the business organisation.

To use Service Oriented Architecture efficiently the following requirements should be met:

1. The interoperability between systems is important for implementation of the SOA

2. Set up a pool of resources and establish and retain main data flow to a federated data warehouse, which can act as a reference for each data element of new functionality

So by implementing SOA in your organisation you can gain:

1. A communications and technology infrastructure which connects different systems and languages.

2. A method which simplifies the services.

3. A way to seek for a service which satisfies specific need.

Web services platform is the most common SOA implementation. The web services platform uses internet and http as medium of communication, a form of XML to describe services.

An organisation can gain lot from implementation of SOA because it permits the liberty for reusing business services, which can be utilised over the time to provide the information needed to curb the demands of the business in a very flexible manner. A well planned SOA implementation can be used to metamorphose the existing and legacy applications into modern flexible business environment which ensures fast delivery of new functionalities and modifies the existing applications.

SOA implementation should be perceived as an utmost priority by business owners because information technology and technology infrastructure plays important role in ensuring the successful business delivery.
